Your edits are now saved automatically

TL;DR - Your edits are saved automatically every 30 seconds. If the app closes unexpectedly or you forget to save, your work is still there when you come back.

The problem with manual save

You’ve spent twenty minutes trimming clips, adding captions, adjusting zoom effects, and getting your recording just right. Then the app crashes, your laptop runs out of battery, or you just close the window without thinking. All that work - gone.

Manual save puts the burden on you to remember. And when you’re focused on editing, saving is the last thing on your mind.

How auto-save works

Tight Studio now saves your project automatically every 30 seconds. There’s nothing to turn on and nothing to configure - it just works.

The title bar shows you the current save status:

  • Edited - You have unsaved changes
  • Auto saved - Your changes were just saved automatically
  • Saved - You saved manually with Cmd+S

Auto-save is smart about when it runs. It won’t interrupt you mid-drag or save during an export. It waits until you’re idle, checks if anything actually changed, and only then writes to disk.

Everything gets saved

Auto-save captures your full editing state - timeline segments, captions, zoom effects, camera settings, backgrounds, music, crop settings, and caption styles. When you reopen a project, it’s exactly where you left it.

Cmd+S still works

If you prefer saving manually, Cmd+S is still there. Auto-save and manual save work side by side. The title bar tells you which one happened last so you always know your work is safe.

Available now

Auto-save is enabled by default in the latest version. Download Tight Studio and stop worrying about losing your edits.
